Now in its fourth year, this is the only swim to take place from a Great Barrier Reef island with competitors taking on the 1.5km and 3km course.

The Green Island Ocean Swim is open for swimmers aged 12 and over, with prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall for men and women in each division.

Typically the water temperature in September is 24 degrees with the air temperature around 28 degrees. The swims will take place on the leeward side of the island with each leg of the event offering a variety of conditions, from shallows to wind chop to tidal flow.

Please note spectators can also be registered to travel at a discounted rate.

Both the 1.5 and 3km swims are open to swimmers 12-years and up. Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall for men and women.

A nipper/beginner swim will take place on a course parallel to the beach. Registration is on the day and is free of charge.
